When you buy your own modem and router or WIFI modem combo unit, the manufacturer (e.g. Netgear, Arris, etc.) provides any troubleshooting Customer Service you may require for your device(s). To activate your own equipment on your ISP network, you will need to contact your ISP's customer service and add the MAC ID address located on your modem/WIFI modem combo unit (sticker).
